This video is an awesome primer if you’re planning to travel to Cancun in the near future.

It details ancient archaeological sites like the Mayan ruins, beachfront hotspots, adrenaline filled ziplining adventures in the jungle, golf courses, the nightclub scene that exists there —  and several other excursions you can enjoy.

Personally, Cancun is a little too busy and, if I’m honest everything is just more expensive here than in other parts of Mexico. Chichen Itza is a must though, if you’re a history/Alien fantasy buff like me. It’s so magical to see remnants of how the Mayans, once the most powerful civilization on Earth, lived thousands of years ago.

The ziplining adventures look really cool too, though the Mexican jungle is by no means the only place you can enjoy this activity.
