Last but not least, this is an older graphic but (if you still think travel insurance is a bunch of bunk) offers some more great reasons to make sure you’re covered before you land (Note: this was not created by someone who speaks perfect English, but I like the examples it gives more than others I’ve seen out there.)
As you can see, the paltry few hundred dollars (at most) you’ll pay for a year’s worth of travel insurance really pales in comparison to the shocking, remortgage-your-house kind of prices you’ll pay for medical treatment in most countries.
Lost luggage, stolen/broken items offer much less of a financial burden than, let’s say $60 grand after being kicked in the face by a Yak, or $100 grand for a major leg injury.
