Epic Untouched Travel Destination: Mongolia “The Land of the Blue Skies”
I got inspired to do this post after watching Marco Polo on Netflix. If you haven’t seen the series, it’s definitely worth a watch.
I’ve never been to Mongolia, but after seeing some of the amazing backdrops that were shot for the Netflix show, I’m determined to get there sooner rather than later.
Check out the awesome scenery to expect when traveling in the ancient footsteps of world conqueror Genghis Khan and his Mongolian nomad empire.
It isn’t hard to see where this country got its nickname, the skies really are a wondrous shade of blue, aren’t they?
One of the most incredible things about this country is the contrasts. You can be traveling along the plains by horse, or through the Gobi by camel and still be able to see snow-capped mountains all around you in every direction. Or be standing in a grassy plain and look to your left or right and see sandy dunes as far as the eyes can see.
The culture seems epic also, with some of the most wonderful, thought-provoking chant-music I’ve ever heard.
Mongolia is also still considered a relatively untouched travel destination, but for how long is anyone’s guess.
If you’ve ever been, please share your favorite place/experience for everyone in the comments.
